Welcome to the Ask Someone website

This website has been designed to help you, or someone you know who has experienced family violence in any form, or used violence against a family member seek, free professional support and information 24/7.

Family violence is against the law. In Victoria, the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 covers a wide range of family and family like relationships, and all types of family violence. It includes physical harm, sexual assault, and psychological, verbal, economic and social abuse. It also cover threats to harm another family member or pets, and children who hear, witness or are exposed to the effects of family violence.

Everyone has the right to feel safe in their family and home. If you are experiencing family violence you have a right to be protected and live free from family violence. If you have used violent or controlling behaviours against a family member seek help, take responsibility and change your behaviour. Family violence can stop. This website can help direct you to support in the region south of Melbourne.

The Southern Melbourne and Bayside Peninsula Integrated Family Violence Partnerships respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the Land on which we provide our services, the Boonwurrung/Bunurong & Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations.
